The position


Want to join our exciting and dedicated Vaccibody team? We are currently seeking 4 scientists within the Oncology Research team where you will contribute to innovation, pre-clinical discoveries, research and development activities. Moreover, you will support ongoing pre-clinical vaccine projects and further advance novel Vaccibody vaccine technology. The ideal candidate has work experience from molecular biology, immunology and oncology, and holds a Master/PhD degree from related scientific fields.


Job responsibilities


  • Initiate, plan and execute laboratory work to advance the Vaccibody vaccine technology
  • Perform necessary experimental analysis and write reports
  • Write and revise WINs, SOPs or other documents according to Vaccibody Quality Management System
  • Establish/develop new laboratory methods at Vaccibody
  • Be an active contributor in cross-functional project teams internally and/or externally
  • Molecular pDNA construct design, orders and construct validation
  • Cell line culturing and in vitro assays to validate the Vaccibody proteins (ELISA, Western blot, FACS)
  • Primary cell culturing and Immune-assays to validate vaccine effects (ELISpot, cytotoxicity, ELISA, FACS, multiplex)
  • Handling of mice, i.e., vaccination, injections of tumor challenge, bleeding, dissection of organs
  • Hold internal/external presentations (both written and oral)

Education and experience requirements


  • Master/PhD degree within relevant scientific discipline
  • Work experience within several of the scientific disciplines; molecular cell biology, immunology, oncology, biotechnology, microbiology, biochemistry or equivalent
  • Expertise in planning, execution and reporting of research activities
  • Excellent skills in Molecular Biology to design, construct and validate DNA plasmids
  • Experienced with in vitro cell culturing (sterile techniques), transfections and cellular assays such as ELISA, ELISpot, FACS analysis, cytotox, proliferation, multiplex assays
  • Certified FELASA C (or similar)
  • Skilled with animal handling (i.m., i.p., i.v. and s.c injections, spleen, lymph-nodes and tumor dissection, collecting blood samples)


Other qualifications


  • Experienced in Project lead 
  • Experience from vaccine/immunotherapy industry is an advantage
  • Knowledge about Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)


  • You are flexible, have the ability to prioritize and manage your time in cases of unforseen circumstances
  • You are enthusiastic, pro-active with a positive attitude
  • Enjoy working in team and wish to contribute to an excellent working environment
  • You are quality-conscious, structured and accurate


  • English fluency is required (working language)
  • An excellent communicator both in written and verbal form

VB10.NEO, its individualized cancer neoantigen vaccines is exclusively licensed to Genentech. Vaccibody’s most advanced program (VB10.16) is a therapeutic DNA vaccine against HPV16 induced pre-malignancies and malignancies. The first in-human study (phase I/IIa), evaluating the safety and immunogenicity of VB10.16 in women with high grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (HSIL; CIN 2/3) has been finalized and has published positive 12 months data. Vaccibody has recently started a collaboration with Roche, exploring VB10.16 in combination with CPI atezolizumab (Tecentriq?) in up to 50 patients with advanced or recurrent cervical cancer. First patients have be vaccinated. Further, Vaccibody is exploring vaccines against infectious diseases.
