Institutional Partnership Coordinator

 

Full time, maternity leave cover position (approximately February - December 2021)  

The Norwegian Red Cross (NorCross) is part of the Red Cross Red Crescent (RCRC) Movement, the world's largest humanitarian network with millions of volunteers operating in over 190 countries. The position is placed in the Finance and Grants Unit in the International Programmes and Preparedness Department of the Norwegian Red Cross in Oslo.  The Finance and Grants Unit provides effective, relevant and timely finance support to the department, including quality assurance and compliance towards NorCross and back donors financial and administrative regulations.  

The purpose of the position is to ensure a constructive and streamlined strategic dialogue and cooperation with our institutional partners (Norad and EU in this case), in order to maintain a good partnership and ensure predictable and sustainable support towards NorCross international programmes. 

 

NorCross has a longstanding institutional partnership with Norad, and a multi-year framework agreement. NorCross also attracts funding from EU institutions, to a more limited extent.  

 

Main tasks and responsibilities 

  • Oversee and quality assure the institutional dialogue with Norad and EU. This includes coordinating and preparing for strategic dialogue, information sharing and meetings for NorCross and its partners with the donors.  

  • Manage relevant grant agreements with Norad and EU.  

  • Provide guidance to colleagues on application/reporting requirements and final QA and submission of applications and reports.?? 

  • Be updated on institutional donors policy development and advise the organization as needed.? 

  • Assess scope and possibilities of other potential institutional funding sources for the International work. 

  • Provide timely analysis of issues related to donor relations  

  • Represent the Norwegian Red Cross in relevant meetings and fora in Norway and internationally. 

  • Be focal point towards the Red Cross EU office in Brussels.  

  • Quality assure agreements and contracts on project level.?? 

  • Coordinate training/capacity building opportunities for relevant staff at national office or in the field.?? 

 

 

We are searching for a person with the following qualities:  

  • University degree in relevant field 

  • 4 years relevant work experience, in fields such as humanitarian/development assistance, fundraising, results-based management, project management, research, advocacy and humanitarian diplomacy. Additional relevant experience can compensate for lack of formal training.  

  • Thorough understanding of and experience in working with institutional donors  

  • Experience with institutional (donor) relationship management  

  • Knowledge about EU funding schemes and requirements.  

  • Excellent relational skills, and very good ability to cooperate and share competency  

  • Fluency in English. Working proficiency in Norwegian (B2-Bergenstest), other languages are an advantage. 

  • Ability to create and maintain useful networks within and outside the movement  

  • Very good ability to communicate effectively
