Topside safety engineer

On behalf of one of our clients, we are looking for topside safety engineer

Job Description:

• Safety lead for all Topside equipment.
• Hold the role as Functional Safety Lead for the client.
• Responsible for design, specification, production follow-up and testing of active- and passive fire protection systems.
• Act as Safety Discipline lead and independently execute all Safety related engineering activities in studies, FEED and EPC projects.
• Responsible for technical documents, drawings, equipment manuals
• Specify required Safety instructions and Safety signs.
• Perform simple noise and light assessments.
• Participate in Mechanical Completion, Acceptance Testing and follow up of installation
• Participate in internal and external meetings
• Identify and clarify interfaces both internally and externally.
• Support Supply Chain in purchasing process of equipment
• Other tasks within the Topside Departments field of responsibility

• Capable of independently manage all relevant activities within engineering of Safety systems
• Knowledge in Fire and Gas, and safety barriers
• Knowledge of relevant international standards.
• Practical and solution minded with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Good Norwegian and English skills, spoken and written
• Desire to work in a multidisciplinary environment

• Relevant education level (MSc/BSc) – (within Fire Safety, HSE, Process safety, etc)
• Required certification within Functional Safety is beneficial
• Relevant experience may compensate for formal education
• Competence in design and specification of Safety systems for offshore use
• Competence in design and specification for Functional Safety Analysis is beneficial.
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience from Oil & Gas or Marine Engineering
