Desk Analyst

The main activities of the Business Area Markets & IT (M) are energy management for Statkrafts assets, trading & origination and market access services in Europe, South America and India. In addition, the business area contains local business support, finance & risk support, and IT services. In M there are more than 700 employees.

 The European trading department has more than 40 employees in Düsseldorf, London, Stockholm, Trondheim and Oslo. The department is responsible for Statkraft proprietary trading activities that cover trading of all main energy products relevant for Statkraft. In addition, the department supports other Statkraft units with market intelligence and market access.

Desk Analyst

The position reports to Head of Nordic Trading and will be located at the head office in Lilleaker, Oslo. Some travelling will be required.

Your role:

• Develop market analysis systems tailor made for trading
• Work in close cooperation the traders in the Nordics and with our analysts in Trondheim, Oslo, Düsseldorf and London
• Digitalize work processes in the trading department
• Develop and improve decision making tools
• Take part in market discussions with the traders
• Work out and present market analysis and trading ideas

Your profile:

• University degree on masters level
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Deep interest for scripting and programming. Experience and knowledge in Python are desirable
• Experience in developing models and data handling
• Self-driven and eager to perform
• Fluent in English additional languages is an advantage
