We are looking for an enthusiastic Head of Sales to shape and define our future commercial success. Within this role, you will focus on the development of our sales strategy, management of our commercial teams, and ensure industry leading customer satisfaction to help us achieve our business goals and ambitions.  

This varied and ‘hands on’ role will report to the CEO, be part of the Senior Leadership, manage regional Sales leaders and local Sales teams. You will have a commercial background from a medium to large enterprise and have proven commercial, communication, and people management skills.


Major Responsibilities  

Sales Strategy 

  • Hit and exceed annual revenue targets in all markets 
  • Work closely with the CEO to craft the sales vision of itslearning, focusing on new business growth, client retention, upsell, profitability and company alignment. 
  • Define and execute a strategy that ensures predictable, repeatable, and scalable sales results. 
  • Contribute to Sanoma Learning’s overall commercial strategy and share best practice with other Sales organizations across the group. 

Sales Success 

  • Communicate the revenue strategy to all sales functions and across the business; monitor the strategy as the team executes, and focus the team on executing the correct goals 
  • Generate annual global sales objective and initiatives, and provide quarterly updates, revisions, and modifications 
  • Coordinate the specific objectives of the global sales plan with all departments of itslearning 
  • Drive the revenue pipeline, adjusting as necessary to create sustainable growth 
  • Manage large enterprise accounts; manage a complex sales cycle in the education technology market 
  • Execute on client success initiatives with a strong focus on client retention and account management to maintain our market leading position throughout Europe 
  • Coordinate joint sales & marketing efforts with 3rd party partners for combined revenue growth 

People Management 

  • Manage country/regional Heads of Sales and lead a sales team of approximately 30 
  • Work in tandem with the leadership team to develop a sales training program designed to develop and empower a growing sales organization 
  • Ensure future team structure is aligned to the evolving market dynamics 

 Sales Operations 

  • Create accountability within the sales team by developing appropriate metrics and coordinating compensation with these metrics 
  • Work with the Senior Leadership team to ensure the commercial success?of our business 
  • Develop a seamless and aligned sales operations processes across regions/countries 


Requirements 

  • 10+ years of hands-on sales management experience, preferable in an international high-growth B2B enterprise software/SaaS environment.  
  • Experience of government tendering or similar. 
  • Experience of leading Sales at a SaaS company with multiple offices 
  • Experience with sales strategy planning and execution, sales operations, business planning, and sales support management in a global setting 
  • Well-versed in complex sales processes, negotiations and legal/contractual compliance 
  • Highly motivated and ability to work collaboratively with a seasoned sales team 
  • Place of work preferable in Bergen, Norway 
  • Must be willing to travel as needed throughout Europe  
  • BA/BS degree required; Master's degree preferred 
  • Fluent English required, Norwegian preferred, German/French/Spanish an advantage.
