In addition to strengthening our efforts in our short-range technology portfolio, we have launched a highly disruptive cellular IoT offering combining a world-class cellular modem with the very best low power. To support the growth moving forward we need to strengthen our product management team for short-range ICs (Bluetooth LE, Thread, Zigbee , ANT). We need a Technical Product Manager who can translate customer and market needs into product requirements and work closely with Nordic R&D and system architects to make these products happen. 

Together with the Nordic sales organization, you will be working closely with top Tier customers in various segments and as such needs both strong customer-facing skills and comprehensive technical knowledge to understand their use-cases and translate these into strong product requirements. 

To be successful in the role as a technical product manager you should be able to see the big picture but at the same time dig into the details of a product. Since our products consists of both hardware and software, a good understanding of both is desired, but it is not expected to be an expert on both.  

In this role you will be working in Trondheim or Oslo in a team of Technical Product Managers with proximity to our R&D teams developing our products. 

Primary responsibilities include: 

  • Work with lead customers across the world to understand their roadmap and future needs 
  • Work closely with R&D during the design phase, acting as the voice of the Nordic customers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams like design engineering, applications, software and product test engineering to create solutions for target customers
  • Work closely with the rest of the Product Management team to identify new product ideas to fuel the product roadmap.
  • Work with Nordic sales and business development teams with design-in activities at key customers.
  • Provide training material and conduct training to the Nordic sales organization
  • Gather and analyze market intelligence to prioritize roadmap paths 

The ideal candidate will have a background from the semiconductor industry focusing on embedded and IoT systems, and will bring with them the following background and qualifications:  

  • Knowledge of short-range wireless technologies and markets, such as Bluetooth LE, Thread, Zigbee, WiFi.
  • Knowledge of RFIC SoC architectures 
  • Familiarity with embedded software development and solutions. 
  • Customer focused with a successful track record of providing value to IoT customers
  • Ability to travel worldwide for ~4 weeks per year  
  • Strong presentation and communication skills  
  • Fluent in written and spoken English 
  • Ability to work well in cross-functional teams
  • Effective time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to deliver without supervision 
  • A proactive approach to challenges with a positive attitude

Nordic Semiconductor´s R&D Headquarters are in the city of Trondheim, situated on the Trondheim Fjord in Mid-Norway.
