Software Developer

The ideal candidate for this position will have a broad technical skillset and should be able to develop new and enhance existing products and applications within an Agile environment to deliver the specified design and business requirements.

Knowledge

• Microsoft ASP.Net C#
• Microsoft SQL database development (T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)
• HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, Angular JS, JavaScrip
• Agile development practice: SCRUM
• Web service development: Web Services, Web API, JSON, XML
• Source control: TFS
• Development techniques: Object Oriented Architectures, UML, Component Design Tools, etc.

Results & Responsibilities

Coding and Unit Testing

• Engaging with BAs to understand the design and business requirements and to ensure the development meets this specification
• Writing and unit testing fresh code for new products or applications
• Fixing and unit testing code for maintenance,
• Coding for business logic and supporting libraries
• Escalating issues and problems where necessary, and participating in their resolution
• Liaising with QA Test team to ensure development passes testing requirements

Agile Environment

• Following the Agile framework for development
• Actively participating in scrum to ensure effective development
• Working in a multi-skilled team
• Engaging effectively with DBAs, BAs, PMs and Testers to ensure the overall development is delivered on time and within budget to the agreed quality standards
• Supporting the team to remove impediments to ensure the development is delivered to the required quality within the budgets cost and timescale
• Supporting the resolution (with the team) of escalated issues and problems as the senior development resource

Personal Development

• Taking personal responsibility for skills development, particularly to enhance programming/configuration and Agile capabilities
• Actively participating in the performance management process, and taking responsibility for delivering agreed objectives

Deployment

• Engage with DBAs to test and deploy products and applications into the production environment
• Supporting the team to ensure developments are thoroughly tested, documented and deployed

Experience

• Previous experience in programming/development for at least 3 years

English is a plus
