Material Planner

We are now looking for a Material Planner with a good understanding of the subject where the main tasks will be to ensure that the right material is purchased at the right price, time, quality and ensures 100% delivery time performance.

Responsibilities:

• Input master data for SAP system for new materials and maintain existing master data for existing materials.
• Populate MRP system with ALL data required to generate supplier demand.
• Identify shortages and attempt to call off materials earlier with agreement from suppliers and release new schedules in order to meet the production requirements.
• Identify where materials have not been shipped. Follow up with suppliers and create a shortage report for Production and Production Planning.
• Contact customer planners regarding any material delays and find a new quantity or availability date in order to not stop the customer.
• Contact purchasing team on local SD / KPI action plans and regards any issues with suppliers like, delivery times, prices, MOQ’s, new products, etc.
• Arrange the transports for material deliveries and solve any logistics problems like transport delays, missing documents, etc.
• Report supplier’s delivery performance on weekly basis/ KPI action plans.
• Contact suppliers on daily basis with regards to business at the factory and proactively developing the relationship with the supplier.

Desired expertise:

• A relevant Bachelor or Master degree
• Understanding a Material Requirement for Planning System (MRP)
• Knowledge in SAP systems
• Experience with purchasing, handling of direct material for production activities.
• Understanding data with good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• An understanding of European economies and the impact on the purchasing function.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Language skills; English fluent and understanding Norwegian
• Good business understanding
• Experience from the Automotive industry will be an advantage.
