Senior Software Engineer

Proserv is currently in a digitalization process and we are undertaking several projects within our subsea control business as well as in the renewable sector.

We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer to assist in our digitization commitment.

As a Software Engineer you will play an important role in the selection of architecture and platform for our products in an early stage.

You will work in a team with highly skilled and passionate SW developers as well as collaborate closely with our HW-designers and mechanical engineers.

Responsibilities

o   Be a major contributor in designing the software architecture and defining software design best practices for our future embedded systems.

o   Be a driver and motivator for future software needs of Proserv to make more effective solutions.

o   Contribute to an active sharing culture including documentation.

Required competence

Education

o   BSc, MSc, in computer science, cybernetics or similar

Experience

o   Minimum 5 years of experience within software architecture and system development

o   Good communication skills, written and oral, in English

o   Focused on excellent system design, implementation and testing

o   Focused on HSE and QA

o   Good overall computer skills

Essential skills

o   General experience with OS based embedded platforms

o   Experience with defining architecture and implement OS based embedded designs

o   Experience with cross-platform development in C/C++

o   Experience with communication protocols and networks

o   Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

o   Ability to multitask, organize and prioritize work.

Preferred skills

o   Experience with GIT version control

o   Knowledge of DevOps

o   Experience with build and test systems

o   Experience with control systems

o   Experience with Python or similar scripting language

o   Knowledge of setting up embedded Linux distributions using e.g. Yocto or similar.

o   Knowledge of configuring and developing embedded bootloaders for Linux (U-boot)

o   Knowledge of communication interfaces like CAN, Ethernet and RS-4XX.

o   Knowledge of RTOS

o   Knowledge of new and emerging technologies, ML or similar

o   Knowledge about cyber security and data encryption

o   Knowledge of OPC-UA protocol
