Senior Developer GDPR

I am Patience Allen and I am leading the Entities & Privacy team at Telia’s Common Products & Services IT Unit. We are a great bunch of people, and I am super proud of every member of each of our teams.

Right now, we are looking for Senior Java Developer - Privacy. We need you!

The Privacy team is responsible for Data Subject Rights management across all brands for each of the Telia 6 countries. GDPR and Data Subject Rights management are important part of Telia’s journey to transform from being subscription centric to becoming user centric. You will be part of the start of a new cross-country IT service. We already have developers in each country and along with another developer, you would be responsible for the Norwegian Solution. You start your journey making sure everything in Norway is integrated and compliant. As more teams join our area, you will begin to look at the solutions in other countries, collaborating closely with different development teams within the company, as well as with marketing, quality assurance and customer care personnel.

Tasks will include:

• Maintaining the existing solutions and following up on quality issues
• Develop and maintain micro services
• Develop and maintain the overall system architecture
• Onboard and integrate with new systems
• Create solution and technical documentation
• Work closely with testers during end-to-end testing, including unit and integration tests
• Solve issues in production with customer operations
• Create frontend web-based solutions upon need
• This is not just a development job, but also includes a lot of practical work and problem solving (such as verifying of RoA-data, fixing incidents in ServiceNow, etc.)

You will be working closely together with many different development teams as well as architects, so you need to have good communication skills and be a true team player. You are driven, solution oriented, take ownership for getting things done and are not afraid to initiate new solutions or initiatives that can benefit our area and help us reach our goals. You like to keep your eyes on the details, maintain a good structure and succeed in following up in a diverse variety of people and tasks. You take initiative in solving complex problems. English is our working language. Scandinavian language is a plus.

We know the spec may be one that most people won't fill completely, so we are primarily looking for familiarity with systems, ability to learn, the right attitude and a willingness/ability to assume responsibility for a large, critical system. That will ultimately be more important than experience with the exact elements of the stack. What we really want is a senior developer who would look at the system and think, “Sure, that looks interesting. I bet I can figure all that out…” more than someone who has worked with Java for ages and already knows how to integrate with ServiceNow, etc.

Your experience and knowledge:

• Experience in Java development and Spring Boot
• Experience with Cloud based solutions (AWS preferred)
• Familiarity/experience with AWS Environment/Toolset; e.g. Lambda, Terraform, CloudWatch, S3, EC2, SSM
• Experience with source control, Git, REST APIs and SQL
• Experience with Containers/Docker, CI/CD: Concourse, Maven, Functional testing
• Experience with ServiceNow and Splunk or similar systems / components / tools
• Knowledge of GDPR and it's impacts on technology (experience with GDPR solutions)
• Experience in front end development like react, HTML, CSS, Javascript etc.
• Implementing and integrating with REST APIs
