Do you have 3-5 years experience as a Financial Controller or as an auditor?

We are now seeking a Financial Controller to be located at our Oslo Office. The position reports to the Senior Business Controller and holds a key position within the finance team.

Duties

Financial Reporting

• Ability to guide a team in accounting and reporting activities on monthly, quarterly and annual basis (IFRS for Group reporting and Norwegian GAAP for statutory reporting);
• Prepare consolidated management accounts of the subgroup on monthly basis;
• Prepare/review reporting packages for entities within the Group and report on monthly basis;
• Assist in preparing monthly/quarterly consolidated performance reporting to various stakeholders;
• Key contributor to the annual budgeting process;
• Drive budget evaluation with respective cost centre against actual spending;
• Assist with Oslo office payroll and the review of documentation provided by the outsourced payroll provider;

Tax and Auditing

• Prepare relevant tax filings for the Norwegian entities based on legal time frames;
• Act as key contact with external auditors and other statutory entities for reporting requirements and tax filing;
• Prepare the annual reports for various entities in accordance with IFRS or local GAAP;
• Respond to Norwegian regulators such as Statistics Norway (Statistisk sentralbyrå) and The Norwegian Tax Administration (Skatteetaten) as required;

Other

• Be an important member of the ERP system team for improvement in usage, application, and standardisation;
• Monitor and communicate changes in accounting regulations that impact on the Group;
• Contribute to the development of streamlined processes and routines within the field of accounting and reporting;
• Assist in developing regional finance policies and other academic framework;
• Travel may be required to other Group offices/sites;
• Contribute to ad hoc reporting, analyses and projects as required.

Qualifications/Skills

• Bachelor/Master’s degree in related field (accounting/finance/economics) or accounting designation;
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an auditor or financial controller;
• Knowledge of IFRS, Norwegian GAAP, and Norwegian Company bookkeeping laws;
• Experience with all aspects of company reporting in Norway;
• Proficiency in English and Norwegian, written and verbal;
• Experience with an ERP system (IFS) is an added advantage;
• Experience with consolidation/consolidation tool is an added advantage.
