Trimble Solutions in Sandvika is currently looking for an exceptional Technical Support Engineer (TSE) to join the newly formed Quadri Service and Support team. This position is responsible for providing product support, installation assistance & training to customers using the Quadri collaborative infrastructure design solution. The role will be primarily to provide second line support and helping customers to solve issues at a deep technical level. 

Scope

In addition to providing second line support and helping customers, there will also be the opportunity to design and develop tools for the efficient monitoring, maintenance and control of Quadri Model Servers to ensure optimal performance for our customers and assist in diagnostics. You will also be involved in dealing with technical support issues related to Quadri to reduce company costs and customer dissatisfaction, and contribute to improved product quality. The role will be located at the Trimble Sandvika office in Norway.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast and efficient technical support for customers through the 1st Line Support team
• Gain and keep a high-level knowledge of Trimble's Quadri solution
• Assist in deployment, maintenance, upgrade and support of Quadri Model Servers
• Work closely with others in 2nd Line Support, product management and development teams to solve product issues.
• Support include Quadri Model Server, Quadri Desktop, Quadri Configuration, Oracle, AWS, Postgres, Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, Python, SQL. Additional responsibilities include interfacing with engineering for the purpose of testing and evaluating new functionality and features
• Create technical notes and documentation
• Use and customise tools for supervision, troubleshooting and diagnostics
• Other duties as assigned

Desired Education/Skills

• BS/MSc. in Computer Science Engineering or an equivalent degree
• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
• 2+ years of experience of maintaining highly available (99.9%) customer-facing server-side solutions, with a focus on configuration, maintenance, upgrade and troubleshooting
• 2+ years expertise with managing Windows, Oracle and application installations
• 3+ years experience of database applications, preferably Oracle, Postgres
• Excellent SQL Skills
• Knowledge in Cloud based frameworks such as AWS, and Azure
• DBA knowledge and experience would be an advantage

Other Skills

• Motivated of working both independently and in a team-based environment
• Able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing in English and Norwegian
• Willing to travel both domestically and internationally on occasion
