World-wide turnkey cable supplier seeks a Project Planner

Nexans’ submarine power cables are key in the transition to more renewable energy whether connecting islands to the mainland or bringing green energy from the offshore wind farm to the grid. In cooperation with our world-wide customers we push technological boundaries to go deeper, longer, at higher voltages and to provide turn-key solutions for installation and protection to meet future needs.

Responsibilities and tasks

  • Under the direction of the Project Support Manager, lead and co-ordinate all activities related to project schedule and detail planning
  • Establish the baseline schedule based on Document Register, Procurement Plan, Manufacturing and Installation schedules – including critical path analysis.
  • Support the project- and technical management team in planning of the activities both internally and externally – governed by the Contract, internal procedures and the Project Model
  • Identification, analysis and further follow-up of schedule risks and opportunities
  • Identify and understand the Client, stakeholder and other third-party obligations
  • Support operational departments as well as procurement/sub-contractors in detail planning
  • Progress reporting internally and externally according to Contract and internal requirements – co-ordinate input to the monthly report
  • Simulation of planning scenarios and analysis of progress – in particular for critical path
  • Support to the project team in the daily project work, assistance to tenders if required

What we are looking for

  • Relevant College or University degree (experience can compensate)
  • Extensive experience within project planning – relevant industry and/or marine operations
  • General knowledge in project management, basic technical and economical understanding
  • Advanced user of planning tool Primavera P6. Good knowledge in MS Project, Excel and other relevant tools
  • High standards in execution of work – structured, analytical and pro-active, team-player
  • Training or certification within planning
  • Good English and Norwegian skills in writing/oral
