Maritime Operational Planner - Yara Porsgrunn

About the unit
Yara Porsgrunn is a major production site for Yara International. The plant produces more than three million tons of fertilizer yearly in addition to various products for industrial applications. The plant has three production areas; Ammonia, Nitric Acid and NPK/Calcium Nitrate and approximately 500 employees. 
Yara Porsgrunn has an annual turnover of about 8 billion NOK.

The Maritme Operational Planner will have a central position within Yara Porsgrunn Logistical department regarding vessel coordination, quay side planning and supporting parts in our container operations. Extensive contact with key personell in Yara Porsgrunn and various Business Units will be essential, as well as close co-operation with Yara’s Maritime Logistics organization. The position plays a key part in ensuring full utilization of our production, warehouses and ensure an optimal co-ordination of Yara Porsgrunn’s maritime activities or towards Yara’s Business Units worldwide. The position reports to the Logistics and Optimization Manager and is localized in Porsgrunn.

Responsibilities

• Vessel planning and quay side operation planning
• Bulk container planning in co-ordination with Yara Maritime Logistics
• Back office functions including updating supporting docs
• Assist in Yara’s containers operation / bookings towards Asia / Yara North America
• External audits coordination
• Close coordination with all relevant stakeholders in Yara and externally
• Provide timely and detailed instructions to shipping agents

Profile

• Bachelor’s degree within relevant area
• Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience within the shipping community – agent/broker or vessel operator within a shipping company preferred
• Strong shipping background considered as major advantage
• Excellent communication skills
• Proactive, organized team player with ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Good knowledge of MS Office applications and SAP
• Fluent in English in addition to one Scandinavian language
