HSAT seeks a development partner to ensure global food security

A changing climate and increased severe weather give more unpredictable agricultural conditions on a local and global scale, significantly affecting yields. The mission of HSAT is to bring insight and foresight to this process, and facilitate an equitable supply of food.

Extensive use of satellite optical and radar earth observation data, supplemented with terrestrial climate and weather information, enables HSAT to predict key aspects of the food production. This foresight is then used to provide entities such as producers, buyers, logistics, processing, and refining, with interpreted reports to support their decision processes.

You will be the ‘Lead Scientist’ and have responsibility for the data science and machine learning at HSAT.

Since the company is rapidly growing you must be ‘hands on’ for the early development and it is therefore expected that you have competence in, and recent practical experience from, processing satellite earth observation and GIS data, as well as ML, using cloud platforms.

While the market served is global with HSAT offices in Oslo and London, the centre for analysis and processing is located in Norway. You have flexibility in where you work, but you will need to attend face-to-face meetings in our offices at Filipstad Brygge, Oslo, on a regular basis – hence a residency in the vicinity of Oslo is preferred.
