The Primary Metal business area has a total annual production capacity of more than 2 million tons of primary aluminium and has around 5 000 employees in 16 countries. We produce primary aluminium, recycle, and supply our customers with casthouse products.

You will be working in the commercial team responsible for sales of Sheet Ingot and Foundry Alloys. Our most important tasks are to ensure our customers world-class technical support, which entails technical service, product- and process development and R&D. You will work in close cooperation with the market teams, Casthouse’s and R&D to improve quality, increase sales and improve margins.

Area of Responsibility 

  • Ensure world class technical service and support towards customers
  • Proactive Technical Support towards customers in cooperation with Sales Manager
  • Support Product Areas’ strategy process and implementation
  • Carry out market driven projects together with R&D and Casthouse
  • Identify and follow up customer survey actions
  • Execute trial order process and implement new products
  • Professional handling of customer specification
  • Responsible for effective and efficient claims and complaints (C&C) processing

Qualifications 

  • Relevant higher education, e.g. university degree (MSc, PhD) in metallurgy, physics, mechanical engineering
  • Sheet Ingot experience is preferred, and Foundry Alloys experience is an advantage.
  • Experience from R&D, Casthouse or downstream processes
  • Fluent in English

Reporting line is to Head of CTS SIFA

Additional information

  • Travelling to customers and plants is required
  • Location for the position is Oslo (Norway)
