We are looking for a strong leader for the operational business and the transformation in accordance with the company's strategy.
Fish handling with care is the heart and soul of all activity at Optimar. Caring for both quality fish handling and the customers' needs has been a key factor in Optimar's 80-years long history. This philosophy has made the company a strong, competent and preferred supplier for the customers. Optimar has ambitions for further growth, and to take a role in this journey we are now looking for an action-oriented, fact-driven, hands-on leader that is capable of transforming overall operations while managing day-to-day business.
Key Tasks
- Transforming overall operations
- Align flow/value stream between project management, engineering, supply chain, capacity planning & production
- Improve efficiency in planning & execution by creating transparency and taking data-driven decisions
- Develop a high-performing operational leadership team taking ownership for end-to-end processes
- Drive excellence in each of above-mentioned function together with department leads
- Establish a culture of continuous improvement
- Introduce Lean principles and tools to operational related functions supported by Head of Continuous Improvement
We are looking for a candidate that is engaged and result-oriented.
Requirements
- Relevant education, BSc or similar
- Proven track record in operations transformation and process optimization
- Relevant work experience as COO in mechanical engineering and project business, ideally in fish processing
- Strong communicator and leader, capable of developing a strong leadership team within operations & driving change
- Pragmatic, fact-driven, hands-on, action-oriented
- Implementing & sustaining change
- Structured and able to handle complexity and high speed
- Experience from an international multi-site B2B environment
The COO will collaborate closely with the operation VP´s and Site Managers, the CEO, the Management team in general - as well as the Board of Optimar and the Executive Board of Haniel regarding matters concerning operations. The position requires a strategist who has drive and determination, strong stamina and can motivate and encourage the team.
The COO reports directly to the CEO and will be an important part of the company´s Executive Management Team.
