Beat Technology specializes in streaming solutions for the audiobook and e-book market. We are now hiring a Project Manager.

The company delivers the technology behind the Norwegian audiobook streaming service Fabel. The company delivers similar technologies to services in Denmark and Germany.

We are now growing internationally, with new services launching in the coming year. We are therefore looking for an experienced project manager.

Job Description

Our projects contain a number of tasks required to establish a new customer or to iterate the solutions we have for existing customers. Specifications of a project are done in close cooperation with internal stakeholders and our customers.

The team involved in the delivery usually consists of client developers, backend developers, QA engineers and a project manager.

We use a modern technology stack based on Linux as OS, Nginx as web server, uWSGI as application server and PostgreSQL for databases. FFmpeg is used to manipulate audio and video files. Ansible is in use for provisioning.

The different components we produce are written using different languages and frameworks, depending on what makes sense in the individual case. We use Scala, Python 3, Rust, PHP, Elixir, React and Lua.

Turning to company-wide tools, we use Git and Gitlab internally, Jira externally and Slack for daily communication.

Projects are run in scrum-like sprints or in kanban style.

We are looking for experienced people who can manage our project teams. You should be able to lead and coach project teams and drive successful delivery of value features. You will be working with international teams of highly skilled developers.

You will also develop schedule and cost plans that support the project goals along with timelines, budgets, resources, milestones, and project deliverables.

You will report to the Project Director in the company.

Qualifications and Personal Characteristics

• 5+ years of IT Software Project Management Experience
• Strong communication skills; excellent problem solving and analytical skills. 
• Proven ability to drive projects and add value to project teams
• Have higher education in computer science, computer engineering or similar, with a bachelor degree or higher.
• The working language will be English

Location: Bergen, Norway, alternatively remote/home office if you do not live here.

The position may entail some travelling.

The first six months of the employement is a probationary period.
