Gard is looking for a Technical Business Analyst (TBA) to join our Digital Service team in the Technology department in Arendal. As a TBA, you will work in the borderland between business and IT to understand business needs and translate these into IT requirements. You will be responsible for the continuous development of several key systems. The right candidate has a strong technical understanding and the ability to work close together with the business.
You will join the team responsible for the continuous development and maintenance of our strategically important Business Applications, Integration, Development, Solution Architecture, Test Management and Technology Scouting.
Close cooperation internally with Gard’s business functions as well as with our suppliers and service providers externally will be crucial to success.
You will be joining one of the world’s leading marine insurance companies, in a friendly team of experienced professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Clearly articulate business needs into business requirements and work with business & IT colleagues to convert these into functional and non-functional requirements
- Acquire knowledge about systems and business processes
- Support development and test teams during the critical phases of a project
- Support the full application lifecycle from initial concept through to delivery, ensuring that changes always meet the true business needs
- Installation, configuration, optimization, troubleshooting, operation, maintenance, monitoring and backup of key systems
- Testing and releasing new software through different stages and environments
- 3rd line technical support
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of working with people at all levels within and external to the business
- Proactive, structured and result driven – ‘you do not accept the status quo’, but aim to improve
- Understands the workflow and process requirements of complex application & systems
- Have excellent cooperation skills
- Demonstrate a commitment to quality, service and personal ownership
- Be flexible and adaptable, and capable of working on multiple projects
Experience:
- Bachelor or higher degree within Computer Science or similar lines of study
- Have proven experience of capturing, documenting and delivering detailed requirements
- Experience with the full project lifecycle, from inception to operations
- Experience within development and maintenance of business applications
- Knowledge about (maritime) insurance is an advantage
- Experience of both Waterfall and Agile methodologies is an advantage
