Advanced information technology, data science and software development are key enablers to realize our ambitions. We have a strong 300+ inhouse software community collaborating across development sites in Stavanger (Forus), Bergen (Sandsli), and Trondheim (Rotvoll). Things we are working on include words like: Python, Azure, timeseries, machine learning, C++, GitHub, GraphQL, open source, k8s, Rust, optimization, React Native, microservices, security, Linux, GPU, robotics, SAP, Java, Jupyter, and supercomputing.
We have built a culture around software craftsmanship, open source and knowledge sharing. We embrace free and open data and software license models. We have a big annual inhouse developer conference, software craftsmanship days, frequent training courses and we try to be an active partner and contributor to the Norwegian software community. Job Description

We are looking for people that are early in their career and that have a passion for software development. If you have a master's degree or PhD in informatics, computer science or computer engineering with 0-3 years of relevant experience, you are the one we are looking for. We need your help to solve the challenges the largest energy company in Norway face in the age of digitalization.
At Equinor you will join cross functional teams of professionals working together with customers to produce solutions that add value to the business. It is a goal that every member contributes to the whole development cycle. This include taking part in the dialogue with customers, implementation, code reviews, design and support. Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in informatics, computer science or computer engineering  
• 0-3 years of relevant experience
• We frequently use Python, C#, C/C++, Java and Javascript variants so experience with these are a plus
• Good knowledge with algorithms, mathematics or physics
• Experience with statistics, visualization [and|or] machine learning is beneficial
• Experience with open source is a plus

Candidates with bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of solid software development experience can be considered.

While strong technical skills are important, we are also looking for communication and collaboration skills, professionalism, innovative mindsets, and people that are eager to learn and develop.
