The role of a Project Purchaser is critical in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services necessary for the successful completion of a project.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Evaluate and assess Suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and compliance
• Prepare and issue Requests for Quotations (RFQ’s)
• Collect and evaluate RFQ’s
• Generate and manage purchase orders
• Track and ensure timely delivery of goods and services
• Draft, review, and finalize contracts with suppliers
• Ensure compliance with legal and organizational procurement policies
• Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with suppliers
• Address and resolve issues that may arise during the procurement process
• Work within budget constraints to optimize procurement decisions
• Identify and assess potential risks related to procurement
• Evaluate and improve procurement processes
• Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and suppliers
• Provide regular updates on procurement status and issues

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, procurement, or a related field or adequate experience
• Experience in procurement and supply chain management is an advantage
• Familiarity with procurement processes and best practices
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
• Analytical skills to assess supplier capabilities, costs, and risks
• Project management skills to coordinate procurement activities within the project timeline
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Knowledge of using ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications
