Are you passionate about creating good profitability through strategic procurement?
The role of a Project Purchaser is critical in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services necessary for the successful completion of a project.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Evaluate and assess Suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and compliance
- Prepare and issue Requests for Quotations (RFQ’s)
- Collect and evaluate RFQ’s
- Generate and manage purchase orders
- Track and ensure timely delivery of goods and services
- Draft, review, and finalize contracts with suppliers
- Ensure compliance with legal and organizational procurement policies
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with suppliers
- Address and resolve issues that may arise during the procurement process
- Work within budget constraints to optimize procurement decisions
- Identify and assess potential risks related to procurement
- Evaluate and improve procurement processes
- Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and suppliers
- Provide regular updates on procurement status and issues
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, procurement, or a related field or adequate experience
- Experience in procurement and supply chain management is an advantage
- Familiarity with procurement processes and best practices
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- Analytical skills to assess supplier capabilities, costs, and risks
- Project management skills to coordinate procurement activities within the project timeline
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Knowledge of using ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications
