Frontend Software Developer

Miros is a technology company with ambitious growth plans. We develop IoT sensors and cloud-based services for environmental monitoring. Our mission is to measure the ocean surface leveraging modern, digital technology while empowering customers to make better decisions. Miros collect data from various sources. The data is analysed and used as input to web applications or as direct integration with external systems.

We are now looking for a Frontend Software Developer to join our highly competent and experienced software development team in Asker. You will be working closely together with our physicists, oceanographers, radar specialists, data scientists and the rest of the Miros team. Your task is to develop frontend web applications for our portfolio of advanced IoT sensors and cloud services. 

Daily tasks include:

The focus area for the position is development of frontends for Seastate-as-a-Service applications towards our customers. The industry is mainly within shipping, offshore wind, oil & gas and ports and coastal.

·       Develop frontend applications that present measured data, time series, 2- and 3-dimensional visualizations and various information displayed on maps.

·       Implement interaction with various types of databases and external data APIs

·       Develop various types of end user interaction

·       Customization for various platforms (PC, mobile, tablets)

We utilize JavaScript and the Angular framework to develop web applications that runs mainly on Microsoft Azure but also in our sensors. Miros is using Azure DevOps to develop and deploy software.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is passionate about technology, IoT and cloud solutions as well as someone who loves coming up with new ideas and new ways of doing things. An understanding of the interaction with the “real things” is beneficial in this position. Equally important is an interest in translating customer requirements and expectations into working solutions.

Other key “must haves” include:

Bachelor or above from Computer Science or related fields with 1-5 years’ experience. You might have various programming experience and are now ready to focus more on front-end side of things. We also need you to have worked with JavaScript and preferably have exposure to Angular as a framework.
