Naval Architect - Stavanger

For one of our clients, we are looking for a Naval Architect

Location: Stavanger
Duration: As soon as possible – 37.07.2020
Option period: 3 x 2 months

Description about project/department:
The naval architect will belong to Marine 1 department that provide investment projects with personnel related to Platform, Marine and Subsea operations. The naval architect will be allocated to a project in Early phase i.e. pre-FEED. The project is an early phase deepwater FPSO project, currently in performing concept studies (pre-FEED).

Description about task and responsibilities:

• Wind Tunnel Testing o Write SOW for Wind tunnel testing of the BdN FPSO
• Follow up the Wind tunnel tests
• Follow up design and make sure that result form the tests are included Weight and stability
• Follow up weight estimates for Hull and LQ
• Support establishment of design margins for FEED and execution of topside and turret weights Follow up stability calculations for complete FPSO 
• Support preparations for exceptions to Flag state rules (IMO regulations) Hydrodynamic calculations Follow up preparations for model basin testing
• Follow up Contractor studies on hydrodynamic behavior and heading control analysis

Competence requirements:

• Shall have MSc/BSc with relevant engineering subjects
• Should have minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
• Good multidiscipline and interface understanding of an offshore oil and gas marine segment
• Wind tunnel testing and basin testing knowledge is beneficial.
• Familiar with relevant Company and NORSOK requirements and IMO regulations, and other internationally recognized standards
• Experience from early engineering phase

• Strong HSE focus, in personal behavior and in consideration of engineering solutions (safety in design)
• Strong ability to communicate, analyses and systemize information
• Good writing (English) skills
• Ability to learn and adapt fast
• Commercial mindset
• A strong team player

 
Language requirements:

• English and Norwegian
