A Tourism Manager to ensure the coordination, planning, and execution of the Tourism strategy. Responsible for driving high spending domestic, European, and non-European tourism footfall thereby ensuring increased footfall and reputation throughout the year is achieved for the centre. Working with and in support of the Nordic Marketing Manager and the Senior Tourism Manager of Via Outlets. 


The ideal candidate should have international sales experience and contacts with DMC’s in Norway, key international travel agents and tour operators and an understanding of retail tourism.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Ensure elevation of the Centre exposure, participation, and business leverage amongst the Travel Industry through:


• Working to identify and target key source markets for OFO, both EU and non-EU, to target travel, including FIT leisure, business, group, and Mice.

• Defining OFO tourism/travel trade strategy, tourism execution plan, and the tourism marketing budget for the centre.

• Overseeing the implementation of the tourism plan and achievement of tourism footfall objectives.

• Managing OFO Tourism Team and any external consultants and sales reps.

• Maximising outbound business from the local market to other destinations where VIA Outlets are represented.

• Considering advertising/promotional options (online and print) to raise the profile of OFO in B2B Travel Trade media.

• Increasing sales and occupancy of OFO Shopping Shuttle service and driving outbound sales to other centre services.

• Developing Trade Hospitality

• Coordinating the effective running of the TIC


Providing content and information sharing across all departments by


• Communicating the Tourism strategy to all departments by providing regular updates and summaries.

• Monitoring the Travel Trade market and trends and providing a bi-annual overview of Tourism trends on a local, regional and national level. 

• Providing a monthly updated client/partner pipeline and implementing plans for new client/partners and future activities. 

• Providing comprehensive monthly reports and distributing them to all relevant departments within Via Outlets and OFO.

• Developing content for Oslo Fashion Outlet Travel Trade Press Releases.

• Updating the Tourism section of the Centre website on an ongoing basis to feature partners.

• Developing Travel Trade specific sales tools such as Fact Sheets, VIP invitations, and other trade show materials following templates.


Maximising tourism by building and maintaining crucial relationships through


• Working with domestic Tour Operators and Travel Trade partners to maximize domestic tourism to the centre.

• Attending monthly Tourism Managers conference calls and ensuring a minimum of monthly communication with all rep offices.

• Building close working relationships with OFO Marketing and Digital Team and other key departments within the Centre.

• Holding quarterly meetings with local, regional and national tourist offices.

• Working with Via Outlets team and other centres Tourism Managers to identify, define and deliver partnerships to increase footfall in all Centres.

• Attending Travel Trade industry events to market OFO in line with Via Outlets market strategies.

• Managing local Shopping Shuttle relationship.

• Supporting and developing relationships with local governments, regional governments, and chambers of commerce.

• Supporting and develop relationships with any other influential groups and organisations in the community.


BACKGROUND & SKILLS


• A minimum 10 years senior travel industry experience/management

• A deep knowledge of the MICE market & how shopping fits with other products

• Proven travel industry knowledge

• Ability to manage the team

• Be a strong business manager as well as expert in Tourism

• Experience with targeting inbound and outbound Tour Operators

• International and European experience mandatory with extensive knowledge of Norwegian market

• Good knowledge of regional and national tourism activities and resorts

• Experience in the Tourism/Hospitality Premium/Luxury Brand Segment 

• Computer literate

• Digital knowledge 

• Able to work individually and as part of a team

• Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

• Good negotiation skills

• Willingness to travel abroad

• To be educated to degree level 

• Fluent in Norwegian and English
