Duties and responsibilities
- Responsibility for purchasing for a dedicated group of vessels ensuring continous supply of required goods and materials and communication of any supply issues which may pose a risk or impact on operations
- Follow-up of orders and shipments to the vessels to ensure on time delivery
- Close contact and cooperation with vessels and Vessel Superintendent / Technical Department
- Develop briefs, updates and reports as and when required
- Negotiate contracts, improved prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings
Qualifications
- Maritime / technical and / or economic education
- Relevant ship-related background may compensate for formal education
- Experience in contract negotiations are preferred
- Technical insight and understanding
- Excellent Norwegian and English speaking skills
- Structured with the ability to prioritize in a hectic work environment
- Good IT skills and ERP experience
