The Development and Humanitarian Cooperation department of Norwegian People’s Aid supports local organisations across the world, in our efforts to create societies where power and resources are distributed more fairly. NPA works with local partner organisations in humanitarian response, and uses its own operational capacity as a leading mine action operator to provide protection against explosive weapons. Where there are few viable local alternatives for urgent response, we also provide direct humanitarian assistance.

Background

NPA is now strengthening our strategic donor work. In this process we need are looking for an experienced Donor relation advisor, to further develop our cooperation with SIDA and EU/ECHO.

You will be a part of the Section for Global Systems and Institutional Donors in the department for Development and Humanitarian Cooperation in Oslo and work closely with country programmes as well as programme advisors and other thematic advisors in Oslo to support new and ongoing programmes.

Your main responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the Head of Section, contribute to further development and professionalisation of NPA's work with institutional donors
  • Responsibility for NPA’s overall cooperation with the SIDA and EU/ECHO
  • The advisor should keep abreast of trends and priorities in relation to the same donors and advise colleagues on communication lines with the donor and annual funding cycles
  • Responsibility for organising and coordinating relationships between these donors and NPA, as well as further developing existing collaboration and communication through direct dialogue, personal meetings and participation in conferences.
  • Lead the development of regional/global applications and support country programmes in strategic proposal processes.
  • Advise country programmes and Head Office on donors' strategies, policies, priorities, procedures and rules and keep them updated on relevant funding opportunities and calls.
  • Provide support to country programmes and programme sections at the Head Office.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Relevant higher education
  • Minimum of three years of experience working with institutional donors in a development and/or humanitarian organisation
  • Good knowledge of SIDA and EU/ECHO's priorities and processes
  • Experience in developing donor strategies, plans, proposals and reporting to institutional donors
  • Documented experience in developing funding proposals, reporting and budgeting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in Norwegian is an advantage.
  • You must be proactive, independent and systematic
  • Ability to travel up to 30%

  • Salary: 453.261-562.698 NOK depending on relevant education and work experience

Start-date is flexible but as soon as possible.
