Hurtigruten is experiencing strong growth and will strengthen its IT Maritime Technology organization in Trondheim.

We are looking for a new Application and HW Delivery Specialist. This position reports to the IT Maritime Technology unit and is positioned within the Onboard Squad, which is supporting, training, standardizing, developing and implementing new applications and hardware onboard our ships. As part of the Onboard squad you will work with a cross-functional team of colleagues from IT, Operations and Finance, with the goal to provide best onboard solutions for our guset and crew onboard. We are looking for a new team player who thrive in a team setting and enjoys taking broad responsibilities to ensure the best quality service is delivered. Training will be provided for the specific systems used onboard.

Duties and responsibilities

Responsible for daily operations, support and maintenance of several of Hotel Operation applications and HW
Provide 2nd and 3rd level support towards ships and application vendors using Jira and other channels
Hands on problem-solving regarding all technical installations (hardware and software) within scope of the Onboard Squad
Drive proactive maintenance through standardized and automated deployment, monitoring and fault resilience
Hands on regarding all technical installations on the ships that are the responsibility
of the Squad.
Identify improvements and/or modifications, plan and execute these together with the rest of the Onboard Squad
Deliver technical documentation and monitoring tools needed for crew onboard, Service Desk (to deliver 1st line support) and Onboard Squad
Standardize use and configuration of applications across the fleet
Plan and execute projects such as Hardware replacements, Application upgrades and new services
Some database administration (optimization, patching, maintenance) of databases (MSSQL, Oracle)
Execute other tasks that might be required to ensure high quality services used by crew and guests

Qualifications

5 years' relevant work experience.Experience with Hotel / travel systems a plus, but not required
Experience with hardware installation, database knowledge (MSSQL/Oracle) and project management
Broad experience with various software ecosystems, languages, platforms and vendors

Personal qualities

English is mandatory plus any other languages desirable
Independent, structured and self-motivated with high work standards, including special attention to detail
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to successfully interact with all levels of management and other personnel within the various entities of Hurtigruten, including working with a wide range of personalities
Can spot opportunities and development issues
