Senior Portfolio Manager

The main activities of the business area Markets & IT (M) are energy management for Statkrafts assets, trading & origination and market access services in Europe, South America and India. The business area also contains IT services and local business support, finance and risk support. In M there are more than 700 employees. 

Nordic Energy Management (ME) is part of the business area Market Operations & IT, and is responsible for optimizing the value of Statkraft's Nordic hydropower portfolio. The portfolio is one of Europe's largest, with a total installation of over 11,000 MW in Norway and Sweden. In addition to the hydropower portfolio, ME also manages the position of a growing wind portfolio which is currently approximately 2000 MW. In ME, there are around 85 employees working in an integrated business process that includes hydrology, market analysis, production planning and power trading.

The department Financial Optimization and Portfolio Management (MEF) is responsible for optimizing the value of the exposures of Statkrafts Nordic Assets. These exposures are managed through portfolios for financial hedging and optimization, and long-term industrial contract portfolios. These portfolios are strategically important and represent significant values for Statkraft. Major decisions within the long-term portfolios need to be anchored with Statkrafts top management.

Senior Portfolio manager will report to the Vice President Financial optimization and portfolio management.

Your role:

• Portfolio manager for long term power contracts, guarantees of origin and El-cert
• Key account manager Nordics towards the business area European Wind and Solar, including portfolio management for wind hedging
• Provide back-up for the other portfolio managers in the department
• Prepare and hold market presentations across the organisation
• Contribute to annual hedging assessment for Statkraft
• Contribute to project work within and outside the department

Your profile

• Relevant masters degree in Finance and Business Administration, Science, Economics or similar/equivalent
• Experience with portfolio management, risk analysis and hedging
• Experience from/with the energy industry preferable
• Experience with/or knowledge of energy derivatives preferable
• Fluent in English and Scandinavian language, both written and spoken

• Strong analytical capacity and ability to draw implications of analysis
• Structured with the ability to see both the full picture and details
• Good business acumen commercially minded and result oriented
• Ability to work well in a team and to build strong relationships across the organisation
• Self-driven and able work on several activities simultaneously, and handle tight deadlines
• Good communication and collaboration skills
