Contract Manager

ABB Industrial Automation provide safety and automation systems, IT-solutions, drives and electrical systems, telecommunication systems and instrumentation to onshore and offshore installations. We deliver solutions to a wide variety of industries e.g. aluminum, cement, chemical, food and beverage, life sciences, metal, mining, oil & gas, power generation and pulp & paper. ABB’s Industrial Automation-operations in Norway are located in Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger, Hammerfest and Stord.

In order to build up the commercial and contractual capabilities within ABB IAEN Project Execution and Service organization would like to recruit a Contract Manager. The holder of this position is responsible to manage and lead commercial and contractual activities in ABB OGC projects. The role reports to Head of section for Project Support in ABB IA Energy Industries and to Project Manager.

Main responsibilities;

• Ensure that all Contract Management activities are executed in accordance with the contractual requirements, ABB Contract Management Framework and relevant ABB directives and instructions.
• Ensure proper handling of contractual and risk aspects throughout various stages of projects.
• Enforces and defends ABB contractual interest including monitoring and assessment of changes and deviations, as well as defending and enforcing claims.
• Ensures timely and accurate execution of commercial aspects of contracts (payments, claims, variations orders, warranties, provisions and bank credits etc.)
• Act as a liaison towards ABB AS legal department on judicial matters to secure adherence to ABB Global guidelines.
• Furthermore, the role would also support and lead initiatives to improve the section within process -and competence development
• Act as a subject matter expert within commercial management section; Commercial and contractual issues

Requirements;

Master degree in Legal and/or Business or equivalent practical experience. At least 5 years of relevant commercial and contracts/legal experience

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with projects within areas such as civil and public procurement
• Strong problem solving, contractual negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders and project team in a proactive and positive manner whether through verbal, written or presentation format
• Ability to analyze, draft, and negotiate complex agreements
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills, leadership and initiative with results in dynamic environments
