Assistant Underwriter

We have an exciting opportunity for a self-driven, positive-minded team player to join our Underwriting department at our head office in Bergen. As an Assistant Underwriter, you will support the Underwriters in a broad range of tasks related to their daily business. You will utilise your strong communication and relationship-building skills as you also work closely with clients, brokers and various internal functions. Travel may occasionally be required.

Responsibilities

As part of the Underwriting Team, your tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Assisting our existing client base on a day-to-day basis.
• Working closely with our Underwriters, supporting them in their activities associated with renewals, reviewing submissions and general market activities.

The ideal candidate is commercially minded, has a genuine interest in the shipping industry and enjoys working in a dynamic, sometimes hectic, environment. A positive attitude is a must.

The successful candidate will also enjoy working with numbers. They will possess an eye for detail while operating within a structured working process.

Applicants will also have a university or equivalent education in business, economics, technology, maritime subjects or law. Both newly graduated candidates and those with prior professional experience from the insurance/maritime industries are welcome to apply for this position.
