Digital Products & Automation Engineering in Stavanger consists of about 130 people spread over several departments. Platform Technology develops and delivers a ICT system platform where both our and third-party subsystems and components can be integrated. Central to the platform is Cyberbase ™. The system platform delivers multiple service elements with a common integration platform.

Rig Data Center is in charge of technology components and activities that support the development and project delivery of an environment that provides processing, storage, capture, security, networking, system health monitoring, management and distribution of data within the Drilling Control Network (DCN) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA). The department shall ensure that NOV can provide a stable, scalable, robust and functional infrastructure that delivers the needed capacity to NOV’s integration products, control products, application products and service products.

As a Manager IT Applications, you will work with skilled engineers whose tasks will mainly be to ensure the performance of the engineering business and the proper delivery of quality to meet internal and external client requirements and expectations.  

Responsibilities:

• Personnel responsibility for the department.
• Manage all Rig Data Center activities
• Manage Rig Data Center ICT system governance
• Develop and maintain the necessary core competencies in the department
• Further develop and streamline today's routines and organizatio
• Responsibility for the department to have a healthy and good development
• Ensure that the department is always properly staffed

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated IT Applications Manager with a Bachelor or equivalent education within cybernetics / information technology / automation or equivalent. You must thrive to work with people and technology, that helps set the standard for future generations of drilling rigs.

We want a leader who is engaging, communicates well with different people, has the abilities inspire and build trust. You must be able to work independently and at the same time be a good motivator for others. We also emphasize good ability to be structured and clear, as well as possess good written and oral skills in Norwegian and English.

We expect you to have a good sense of the technical capabilities and ability to make the right assessments, and be aware of the drivers, risks and consequences of decisions. As a person, you are inclusive and have a natural ability to engage others. Furthermore, we want you to identify and manage risk with regard to technical problems and system solutions.You thrive on solving technical problems through dialogue, planning and prioritization - including documenting them.

Finally, it will be a clear advantage if you are familiar with ICT, design methods, tests and client requirements, and we prefer candidates with work knowledge in the ICT sector.
