Since the 60’s we been drilling for oil in the North Sea. Since then there has been several technical leaps that changes the way we work. PDC bits, measurement while drilling, rotary steerable systems, top drives and more. The next game changer is wired drill pipe and drilling automation. Wired Drill Pipe (WDP) enables data streaming from downhole sensors with unprecedented speeds and along-string measurements which combined are ‘turning the lights’ on downhole. Run together with other automation technologies in the industry, the WDP technology is currently changing the way we understand downhole conditions and the way we drill!
