Associate – Private Equity Funds
Investments in private equity funds are an increasingly important instrument for Norfund in order to create and support sustainable businesses in developing countries. With a high level of activity, we are in the process of expanding and wish to increase our team in Oslo. We are seeking a result oriented person, with a strong interest in investments, active ownership and private equity strategies. This is a unique opportunity to get first-hand experience from investing in developing countries using diverse private equity strategies including incubators, venture funds, buy-out, and co-investments. The successful candidate must have the capacity to work both in teams and independently and be a resource for others in the department.
Responsibilities and tasks
- Portfolio administration and management
- Participate in due diligence and investment processes, including assessment of opportunities, evaluating management teams, execution of new investments as well as monitoring investments
- Conduct investment research, including analysis of appropriate active ownership strategies, country and industry analysis
- Financial analysis, valuation, systems development, analysis of track records etc
- Drafting of investment papers for the Investment Committee and the Board of Norfund
- Be a support to the active ownership of portfolio companies
- Travel to potential and existing investments, as needed
Specific qualifications for this position:
- Master’s in business, Economics, Finance or equivalent with a strong academic record
- Strong analytical skills and a high level of accuracy
- Result oriented and with a structured and efficient work style
- Excellent communication skills both in Norwegian and English
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience
