Business Analyst (Financial Services or Commodity Systems)

We are looking for a skilled Business Analayst to join our team at our Office in Fantoft, Bergen.

The Business Analyst will design and oversee the implementation of IT solutions that support the company’s European Power and Nat Gas - Supply & Trading activities. These solutions will be realized in the company’s ETRM systems (CXL, Brady Systems such as Elviz /Pomax) and in new custom developed systems.

The Business Analyst will be the Subject Matter Expert of the IT organization in the area of European Power and Nat Gas - Supply & Trading activities. The role requires an outside focus to identify best practices in risk management and trading and to translate them into practical IT solutions that continuously improve the capabilities and risk controls of the S&T organization.

To support this role, we provide continuous training opportunities which helps the Business Analyst understand the concept of Power and Nat Gas - Supply & Trading activities. By these trainings, the Business Analyst will fully understand the Supply & Trading activities.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

• IT knowledge expert for Power and Gas Supply and Trading activities in European Markets
• ETRM system configuration to support Power and Nat Gas Portfolios – Physical Trading and Financial trading
• Great people skills with ability to work with the Product Owner and subject matter experts to analyze complex ideas / problems and devise solutions. Be comfortable working directly with our customers.
• Ability to work with sometimes very detailed experts, stakeholders and customers.
• Willingness and passion to learn more about the energy industry and about our client base.
• Define project initiation briefs, project charters, target business outcomes
• Help to define business cases, cost vs benefit analysis
• Analyze and elaborate complex business requirements
• Suggest potential options, recommendations and solutions
• Familiarity with agile methodology
• Contribute to architecture design
• Capture, define and measure issues and risks

The Individual

• Experience of working as a Business Analyst, IT Business Analyst or similar position supporting financial services or commodity systems is essential.
• Experience of working in an Agile environment is essential.
• Willingness to learn the concept of Power and Nat Gas - Supply & Trading activities is essential.
• MS-SQL and database knowledge are an advantage
• Strong written and oral communication in English skills are essential and strong stakeholder management skills are essential.
• Strong functional and technical problem-solving skills are essential
• Willingness to travel (approx. once or twice in every quarter) to support global offices is essential.
