G2 Ocean is now looking for a bright and forward leaning Financial Controller who has the talent and passion to grow with us. The position is stationed at our headquarters in Bergen. The ideal candidate has a technology driven mindset and can work to develop, improve, digitalize and contribute to our high-performance team culture.

As a Financial Controller you will be involved and responsible for a diverse set of tasks within both accounting, business controlling, treasury and management reporting.

Main responsibilities

Accounting
  • Support and coordinate on the consolidation of the monthly accounts for the subsidiaries in the group
  • Responsible for the monthly provision of admin expenses in the Norwegian entities in the Group
  • Support on the monthly pool distribution
  • Support quarterly, annual, statutory accounting
  • Support on periodically statistical reporting
  • Cooperate and follow up with the group service center in Manila
  • Support audit process for the Norwegian entities in the Group
Business Controlling
  • Responsible for business controlling of the admin expenses and the indirect voyage cost in the Group, including
    • Coordinate the budget process
    • Coordinate the forecast process
    • Facilitate department and subsidiaries financial review meetings
    • Monitor and report the monthly spending
    • Management reporting of global expenses in the Group
    • Continued optimization and digitalization
    • Develop further best practice on business controlling for expenses in the Group
Treasury
  • Central role in the weekly pool distribution being responsible for deliverables, meeting activity and related models and tools
  • Central role in ensuring optimal cash management throughout the Group
  • Assist the Accounts receivable and Accounts payable teams by applying principles in the development, implementation and management of the A/R and A/P process
  • Responsible for monitoring and periodic reporting of all hedging activities being conducted by the Treasury Function
  • Prepare periodic management reporting related to Treasury Management and assist the wider Finance Function with executive- and board-level analysis, reporting and presentations
  • Assist in ensuring that all Treasury activities complies with relevant legal requirements and principles as well as regulations and guidelines set forth in Company Treasury policy and procedure
Other
  • Continued optimization and digitalization
  • Develop further best practice in the Group
  • Contribute to be a high performing team and be best in class
  • Other ad hoc accounting tasks

Experience and education

  • Have master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent degree
  • Have minimum 1-2 years’ relevant experience, graduates are also encouraged to apply
  • Have good all-round accounting, systems and controls understanding
  • Have knowledge of accounting, reporting and statutory requirements
  • Have some experience in building complex financial models and tools
  • Have advanced MS Office skills: MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint
  • Experience with Power Bi is a plus, but not a requirement
  • Experience with an ERP systems is a plus, but not a requirement

  • Be well organized, detail oriented and possess strong analytical, and high degree of numeric skills
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills (English language), both verbal and written, and be capable of working in an international environment
  • Be able to work on their own initiative, take ownership, and succeed in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Be independent, flexible, pro-active and able to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously
  • Have an analytical mindset, turning complex data into meaningful information and come to rational and well-thought conclusions - communicating results effectively and efficiently
  • Be creative and forward thinking and internally motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas and develop new skills
  • Have a strong awareness and understanding of risk
  • Possess strong organizational skills, being able to work, communicate and cooperate with employees from all levels of the organization
