Product Manager for Workover Systems an exciting career opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the mechanical products group to join the team as a Product Manager for Workover Systems. This department has global product responsibility for (Subsea XTs, Wellheads and Workover Systems) and is a key part of the over TPM “Technology / Product Management group”. With Aker Solutions having a large portfolio of different intervention systems, serving clients globally, as part of Subsea Production System (SPS) deliveries and standalone rental solutions, the product manager will have the day-to-day product responsibility of this portfolio which includes:

• Light Well Intervention (LWI) Systems (Open Water Workover System)
• Riserless Light Well Intervention (RLWI) Systems
• Simplified and conventional Landing String Systems

The Product Manager Workover Systems will work closely with the workover specialists who currently covers sub-systems across complete portfolio (Workover Riser, WOCS, Well Control, Distribution).


Responsibilities and Tasks

• Manage full product lifecycle of RLWI & OW Workover systems product including defined interfaces (tooling, etc.)
• Identify product requirements based on internal and market needs
• Define and control product strategy, roadmaps and programs including business cases, industrialisation plans and product obsolescence
• Establish and control platform envelope for tenders and project/service execution – standard offering and allowed customisations
• Determine make vs. buy decisions and govern core supplier qualifications and approvals
• Track specific product cost
• Support other functions as needed (BD, tender, service, projects, etc.)
• Control product application governance (variance management)

Qualifications and Personal Qualities

• Preferably MSc or higher academic degree with technology focus
• 10+ years' of relevant subsea experience from the oil and gas industry
• Additional formal business education/training (e.g. MBA) is preferable
• Excellent communication and training skills
• Organisational and planning skills
• International mentality
