DESS Aquaculture Shipping has a vacant position as Captain on Life Fish Carrier in Australia and Norway, with start up expected to be Q3 this year.

We are looking for capable and flexible Captains with the following qualifications and skills:

Ability to manage all aspects of the vessel operations in accordance with the required rules, regulations, company guidelines and client requirements.
High skill level in English, both oral and written.
High skill level in use of data software.
Experience from Life Fish Carrier or other similar aquaculture vessels is highly preferable.
Experience with modern vessels with a high degree of automation is preferable.
Experience with azipods will be beneficial.

Required formal competence:

Deck officer D1.
For Norwegian operations, Pilot Exemption Certificate is beneficial.
Fish welfare course and H2O2 course is beneficial.

Ability to manage the technical department in accordance with the required rules, regulations, company guidelines and client requirements.
High skill level in English, both oral and written.
High skill level in use of data software.
Experience from Life Fish Carrier or other similar aquaculture vessels is highly preferable.
Experience with modern vessels with a high degree of automation is preferable.

Required formal competence:

Engine officer M1
Fish welfare course and H2O2 course is beneficial

Ability to manage the safety and security related work onboard the vessel.
High skill level in English, both oral and written.
High skill level in use of data software.
Experience from Life Fish Carrier or other similar aquaculture vessels is highly preferable.
Experience with modern vessels with a high degree of automation is preferable.
Experience with azipods will be beneficial.

Required formal competence:

Deck officer D2
