Mechanical lead engineer

Job description, tasks and responsibilities

As a key member of the engineering team you will participate in the development of the robot platform from a prototype to a production ready state, and develop a lean, effective team, meaning;

-         Optimize the product for production

-         Contribute in building a team of mechanical engineers

-         Develop production friendly and well-designed parts and assemblies

-         Make production drawings and production manuals 

-         Establish new and follow up existing supply chain contacts

-         Participate in testing and troubleshooting

Beyond these tasks, you will be challenged by a variety of other tasks as they arise, and you will need to brainstorm and work closely with hardware/software engineers and management.

Desired qualifications

-         Highly motivated to use your abilities, to create good products for the world.

-         Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related fields

-         In-depth knowledge of product development throughout the product life cycle

-         Strong CAD experience

-         High attention to details

-         The ability to evaluate manufacturing and assembly processes and implement such

-         Problem analysis and solving skills

-         Team mentality

-         5 years of practical experience with product development

-         Experience with machines working in dirty environments

-         Experience with medium to large production volumes

-         Experience in design of autonomous vehicles or related industry

-         Basic understanding of electronics and cabling

-         Knowledge of the different production concepts

-         Farming or experience with plants

-         Experience with lean thinking and design for assembly
