Backend- and Frontend developers

We think that our coverage of the power market involves both the amount of data and complexity to remain challenging and interesting for years to come. To strengthen Wattsights development teams in Oslo or Arendal, we are searching for Backend- and Frontend developers.

Backend:

Do you want to build the next generation power market analytics on Google Cloud?

As part of our team, your main focus will be:

• Develop systems in the cloud for processing and storing vast amounts of data.
• Close interaction with our quantitative analysis team that builds analytical- and machine learning models on the platform you will help shape and take to the next level.
• Build tools to help enable a higher degree of automation in our business processes, in particular on areas like data collection and data availability surveillance.
• Build APIs to expose our data to clients and build tooling to manage our systems and data.

Who are you:

• You have a relevant university degree.
• At least 5 years of professional development experience with Java or Python, preferably experience with both.
• Experience with at least one of the larger cloud vendors - we are using Google Cloud Platform and key services from Google’s offering.
• Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases. You will meet a variety of data types including time series.
• Interest in or experience with the operational aspects of keeping cloud services running and monitored is a plus.
• Experience with continuous delivery, Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
• Proficiency in Norwegian is a plus.

Frontend:

Do you want to build the next generation power market analytics applications? Do you want to build cutting edge web applications to satisfy a demanding audience?

As part of our team, your main focus will be:

• Develop new web applications and new features to enable our clients to visualize and analyse our data
• Close interaction with our analyst team to help shape new products or new features
• Work together with UI/UX design and take an active role on defining how the applications should look and work
• Solve visualisation and data manipulation challenges using best practice and code patterns
• Collaborate with the rest of the team locally and in other offices, but take ownership of tasks with the "Operate what you build" mindset

Who are you:

• At least 5 years of professional development experience developing web applications
• Proficient understanding of JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks such as React JS
• Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3 as well as server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
• Experience with package management and build systems such as Webpack and Yarn
• Experience with code versioning tools, such as Git and code reviewing process
• Experience using performance optimisation techniques and tools
• Experience writing unit-tests, integration tests and UI-testing
• Open-minded to learn new technologies, approaches and frameworks
• Proficiency in Norwegian is a plus.
