Data Architect

Data architecture activities are included in all information management projects and numerous data models exist within Aker BP. We see data architecture is one of the aspects of information architecture which is central to the overall mission of data management.

In your role of data architect your main duties will include:

• Collecting and identifying the various metadata assets.
• Identifying data assets that are deemed significant to Aker BP, as determined by the business impact, decision impact, risk mitigation or organizational impact of the information.
• Modeling the future state of data architecture and providing data architecture best practices and guidelines.
• Establishing metrics for tracking and measuring the value of data architecture initiatives. For example, measuring model reuse, impact on project costs or improved data consistency across diverse initiatives.
• Ensuring that critical information assets modeled as part of any project are represented in the EIA and follow the design guidelines and requirements of EIA.

• Provide insight and strategies for changing databased storage and utilizationrequirements for the company and provide direction on potential solutions.
• Assist in the definition and implementation of a federated data modelconsisting of a mixture of multi-cloud and on premises environments to supportoperations and business strategies. 
• Assist in managing vendor cloud environments and multi-cloud databaseconnectivity.
• Analyze structural data requirements for new/existing applications andplatforms.
• Submit reports to management that outline the changing data needs of thecompany and develop related solutions.
• Align database implementation methods to make sure they support companypolicies and any external regulations. 
• Interpret data, analyze results and provide ongoing reporting and support. 
• Implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize efficiencyand data quality.
• Acquire available data sources and maintain data systems.
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in data sets.
• Scrub data as needed, review reports, printouts, and performance indicatorsto identify inconsistencies.
• Develop database design and architecture documentation for the management andexecutive teams.
• Monitor various data base systems to confirm optimal performance standardsare met.
• Contribute to content updates within resource portals and other operationalneeds.
• Assist in presentations and interpretations of analytical findings andactively participate in discussions of results, internally and externally.
• Help maintain the integrity and security of the company database.
• Ensure transactional activities are processed in accordance with standardoperating procedures.
  

Kvalifikasjoner

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, or related quantitative field required.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
• Proven work experience as a Data Architect, Data Scientist, or similar role.
• In-depth understanding of database structure principles.
• Strong knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques.
• Expertise in MS SQL and other database platforms.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools.
• Experience with formal Enterprise Architecture tools and in managing cloud-based environments.
• Aptitude regarding data models, data mining, and in cloud-based applications.
• Adept at report writing and presenting findings.
• Proficiency in systems support and monitoring.
• Experience with complex data structures in the Oil and Gas Industry a plus.
