GE Vingmed Ultrasound AS - Product Sourcing Leader

Role Summary:

The Product Sourcing Leader is responsible for managing and directing all sourcing activities as scope is cardiovascular ultrasound product based and includes all suppliers and production with the segment portfolio. 

Essential Responsibilities: 

• The Product Sourcing Leader’ s role is to set up/propose/identify suppliers in alignment with the cardiovascular ultrasound business to ensure the needs and strategies are met.
• Key team member in a cross-functional cardiovascular ultrasound team responsible for the interfacing between R&D teams, Supply Chain, including leading the key deliverables for the total product life cycle.
• Drive and execute sourcing initiatives early in NPI (new product introduction) process to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in supplier selection and platform specification meeting target costs, quality and supplier readiness.
• Integrate the Engineering, Production, and Sourcing objectives in the execution of assigned segment including promoting standardization across programs for supplied product and sourcing initiatives early in the NPI process including supplier investments and to ensure excellence in supplier selection and component and platform specification driving supplier capability measurements for assigned programs.
• Collaborate with engineering to ensure technology match occurs between supply partners and engineering & manufacturing to ensure capable product and factory fulfillment requirements are met. 
• Key focal point for all Supply Chain issues pertaining to installed base, component obsolescence and quality, including manage new product deliverables required to establish an optimal supply chain focused on strategic suppliers with a strategy to achieve target product Inventory Carried Values for assigned segment.
• Support yearly deflation target in the creation and selection of targeted productivity projects and coordinating overall activity to deliver cost saving measures in a timely and efficient manner.
• Analyze potential productivity projects and develop business cases demonstrating viability.
• De-risk the supplier base in partnership with the business.
• Defining mitigation plans and move to execution.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or technical related field.
• Strong experience in manufacturing engineering, sourcing or engineering.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets development and analysis.
• Analytical, systematic and structured personality.
• Energetic and “leaning forward”.
• Negotiation skills.
• Some travelling may occur.

Desired Characteristics:

• Working experience with development and production with Medical Devices.
• Engineer in electronics with financial knowledge and interests (understand mechanics, electronics and production processes).
• Practical experience in balancing and optimizing engineering process rigor with product delivery priorities.
• Excellent program/project management experience and skills with the ability to develop and execute on integrated program plans.
• Effective problem-solving ability to lead and influence others (cross-functionally and globally).
• Demonstrate strong execution skills and ability to drive change globally.
• Experience with eNPI, ePDM and Oracle systems.
• MBA or master’s degree in Technical field.
