Training Instructor

FI-FI (A) with ME-IR certified flight instructors

The company is growing due to worldwide demand for pilots and we are currently looking for candidates to expand our Internal Training Department with Training Instructor candidates.

Training Instructors are responsible for all internal training and standardisation of our new and existing flight instructors. This can be both initial FI-training as upgrading those who are already certified.

We are looking for candidates with a solid and professional flight instructor background and with good leadership- and communication skills.
You must enjoy working in a team but also be self-driven, responsible and able to follow routines and procedures.

Training Instructors report to Chief Training Instructor, the manager of the Internal Training Department.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

Training and follow-up of new instructors
Training and follow-up of flight instructors (upgrades)
Some theory teaching in the classroom, mainly flight operations related theory or internal standardisation
Flight in simulator and aircraft, primarily internal training of own instructors and school checks for school students
Process reported deviations


Secondary duties and responsibilities:

Creating and improving routines and procedures related to the school's flight operations
Lead and contribute to project groups, e.g. implementation of iPad in aircraft, IT projects etc.
Assist dispatch/operations so that the flight operations are efficient
Assist in recruitment process
Contribute to writing/revising the school's manuals
Contribute to ensuring that all our aircraft operations are operated safely, efficiently and in accordance with the regulations
Do supervisor assignments
Other administrative work


Qualification requirements:

Valid EASA FI(A)FI ME-IR
Thrives with the combination of administrative work and flying
Motivated to become a Flight Examiner
The ability to work both independently and in teams
Flexible with regard to high workloads during periods
Ability to work efficiently and structured
Good communication skills in both oral and written in English (LPE Level 4 as minimum)

Applicants who do not hold FI(A)IR or FI(A)ME are welcome to apply if the applicant is holding the EASA qualification FI(A)FI or almost meeting the hourly requirements for FI(A)FI (500 hr instruction given).

Depending on the actual instructor qualifications, one will undergo a training period according to an agreement with the Chief Training Instructor.

Upon employment, the selected candidates must apply for The Civil Aviation Authority of Norways background check and be approved to hold a mandatory access card that gives access to the security clearance area at the airport. Further information can be found here: https://luftfartstilsynet.no/en/
