FPGA, and Embedded Software Developer

We are looking  for a new colleague focusing on VHDL- and embedded SW development. You will mostly design and implement code that runs on our 3D ultrasound scanner called SPACE® as well as on related products, including a high-speed telemetry system.  SPACE® is used for imaging and diagnostics in oil-wells. Our team currently consists of 14 engineers, and we are located at Midtunhaugen in Bergen. As a member of the team you will be involved in everything from concept study and fundamental research to development, field testing and support of commercialized products. We are working closely with research institutions, consultants and suppliers both in Norway and abroad. Our mother company has a global footprint ensuring that our products are deployed everywhere from Australia to Alaska.

Role

The ideal candidate will have a background from both hardware and embedded software. You find FPGA and VHDL development interesting and interest and enthusiasm for learning this subject can compensate for the lack of VHDL-experience, given you can document good results in related fields. Further, you have experience programming DSP’s and/or microcontrollers using C/C++. Experience with high-temperature electronics is advantageous, but not mandatory. You enjoy working independently. At the same time, you like to cooperate and have no problems asking your colleagues if necessary.

Education:      

• MSc in electronics, cybernetics or similar.  Relevant experience can compensate for lack of formal education.
• FPGA development including VHDL.
• Embedded microprocessors
• General electronics laboratory work, analog and digital
• Embedded software experience, C / C++
• Development & implementation of test methodologies, HW and SW
• Version control systems, SVN, GIT
• Matlab

Experience:

• 3 years’ experience or more are preferred, but newly qualified candidates are also encouraged to apply.
