Group Data Protection Officer

OSM Maritime is seeking a Group Data Protection Officer ("DPO") to join our office in Arendal. As the company's Group DPO you will be a part of the OSM Group's global legal and compliance team and report to the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer. 

Duties and responsibilities

• Acting as point of contact with supervisory authorities and internal teams
  
• Identify and evaluate the company's data processing activities
  
• Provide advice and instructions on how to conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)
  
• Maintain data protection policies that enforce compliance with legislation and deliver GDPR training to our staff to increase awareness of data protection measures.
  
• Monitor data management procedures and compliance within the company
  
• Maintain records of processing operations
  
• Ensure we address all queries from data subjects within legal time frames
  
• Liaise with other organisations that process data on our behalf
  
• Perform audits and determine whether we need to alter our procedures to comply with regulations Follow up with changes in law and issue recommendations to ensure compliance

Qualifications

• Higher degree on Bachelor or Master level
  
• 5 -7 years working experience
  
• Excellent written and spoken English
  
• Experience in data protection and legal compliance
  
• Solid knowledge of GDPR and national data protection laws
  
• Familiarity with computer security systems
  
• Ability to handle confidential information
  
• Organizational skills with attention to detail
  
• Experience from the maritime/shipping industry is an advantage
