Purpose of the job:

As a UNICEF Corporate Partnerships Specialist (Oslo), you will be assigned to the Corporate Partnership team to work with Norway based corporations to take a role in advancing children’s rights globally. You will work in the Norway National Committee (UNICEF NO) and coordinate with UNICEF’s various divisions, where appropriate to build relationships, value propositions and structures necessary for successful long-term fund-raising partnerships with global impact.

The Corporate Partnerships Specialist will be passionate about connecting the resources and capabilities of leading Norwegian corporation, SMEs and other strategic partners to the needs of children, enjoy the challenge of creating value for private sector partners and their key stakeholders, and eager to push traditional boundaries of partnerships to maximize their impact.

Under the guidance of the Director, Corporate Partnership at UNICEF NO, this post will be a working in a cross functional role and add capacity to the Corporate Partnership team in the areas of marketing and communications, engage in cross departmental initiatives and teams, with a focus on supporting the growth of partnership activities by developing (and supporting) initiatives in collaboration with team members, etc. to deliver on UNICEF Norway and UNICEF’s strategic objectives by leveraging financial and non-financial resources and optimizing the reach and influence of the corporate sector.

Main tasks:

This post is responsible for working in the Norwegian National Committee for UNICEF to develop and support partnership activities, expanding their scope and duration to include new geographies and impact areas, working to support securing partnerships with Norway-headquartered corporations, take a leading role in developing partnership marketing and communications, support other assigned team tasks and also work in a cross functional role with other departments:

  • Reporting to the Director, Corporate Partnerships, you will work closely within the corporate partnership team in a multi-disciplinary role. One of the key tasks will be to identify synergies and drive the corporate marketing and communications strategy across the organization, create and deliver leads using digital channels within partnerships, and work closely with Communications and Marketing departments to ensure the deliverables are executed.
  • Working across the organization with various colleagues to identify, develop and deliver solutions to support partnership activities. Participate in the development of planned marketing campaigns designed to support corporate partnership activities. Support the corporate team’s activities and liaise with concerned stakeholders to get their inputs.
  • Proactively identify, develop, and secure new business partnerships for UNICEF from Norwegian Headquartered companies, focusing on partnerships with the capacity to deliver both funds and core assets such as technology and people skills. This may include corporate grants, cause-marketing, customer fundraising, sponsorship of campaigns, and/or workplace giving, employee engagement, to name a few.
  • In line with the Global New Business Strategy, working with UNICEF Norway and other UNICEF colleagues to develop creative and collaboration models that will create innovative cooperation opportunities and thereby support capacity building across the department and organization.

Qualifications and specialized knowledge/ experience required: 

  • Minimum five years of progressively responsible professional work experience in corporate roles that involve partnership development and an understanding of the Norwegian corporate sector.
  • Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment with knowledge of global business practices, geo-political environments and cultural practices.
  • Exposure and work experience in the development sector is preferred. Experience in working within corporate fundraising channels in an international organisation is an asset.
  • Experience in the marketing, communications and publishing fields are also preferred.
  • Proven experience in identifying opportunities, developing proposals, negotiating and successfully securing partnerships.
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in Norwegian is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English is a must.
  • Masters Level University degree in Business Management, Communications, Marketing, Social Sciences, Fundraising or related field is preferred. A Bachelors level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Reporting to: 

The incumbent will report to Director, Corporate Partnerships in Oslo, Norway. The incumbent will work in close coordination with the Corporate Partnership team and also collaborate and consult with colleagues from the Norwegian Committee for UNICEF, other National Committees, other PFP and UNICEF HQ units and country office colleagues, as appropriate.
