Software Development Engineer wanted for an exciting opportunity with GE Vingmed Ultrasound AS

Role Summary/Purpose:

To strengthen our development department in Horten, we are seeking 2 development engineers for the Connectivity team. Both newly graduated and experienced developers are encouraged to apply. We seek people with broad knowledge in software development, preferably with experience from the healthcare domain.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Translate user requirements to software design requirements
• Translate software design requirements into maintainable, working code
• Refactoring of legacy code to meet evolving architectural design
• Secure and increase test coverage of new and legacy code
• Improve code quality
• Fix and document bugs
• Technical documentation
• Help performing verification activities of new and existing features

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Preferred Master’s degree or above within computer science or other relevant disciplines (or equivalent knowledge/experience)
• Software architectural design skills and software craftmanship
• Microsoft environment, tools and operating system
• Experience with .NET technologies and/or C++
• SQL Anywhere and .NET Datasets
• Inter process communication, WCF
• User interface programming, WPF
• Citrix or other virtualization platforms
• Agile methodologies and test-driven development
• Experience from the Healthcare domain
