We are seeking a highly motivated and technically interested candidate with work experience for process understanding, development and integration of software solutions and technology to support development of our metal based Additive Manufacturing systems (AM). The AM machines are developed at Eggemoen Technology Centre (ETC) and utilizes our patented Rapid Plasma Deposition (RPD) technology. The position requires a skilled engineer willing to learn, and able to collaborate well within a highly competent R&D environment focused on developing and industrializing new RPD system technology.
Work description
The Process Automation Engineer will be part of the RPD Technology development team at Norsk Titanium's Technology Centre together with experts within manufacturing, metallurgy, image processing, optical sensing, process control and mechanical design. The Process Automation Engineer will be part of a dedicated team and contribute to the development, testing and deployment of supporting systems for the automation equipment including Process Simulation, Digital Twin, Data analysis and visualization tools.
Ability to understand complex processes, execute process improvements, building algorithms, simulation, modeling, statistical analysis, process control and automation will all be central in this role. The person will build scalable IIoT solutions and user interfaces. You will work in connection with the digitalization team on integration of data from dispersed systems across the entire business and on data modelling of data from disperse systems.
The position is key in Norsk Titanium’s Industry 4.0 transformation and you are expected to contribute to technology development in accordance with the company’s digital strategy and assist or manage the handling of technical issues and problems as assigned.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a bachelor’s or master's degree in Robotics and Control, computer science or similar
- Has minimum 2 years’ experience from software development on multiple platforms and languages
- Has interest and drive towards production machines and equipment
- Collaborates easily and has a high level of professional integrity
- Are driven by curiosity and a deep interest in software technologies
- Can adjust and re-evaluate based on changing circumstances
- Preferably has experience with some of the following tools; Java, .NET, Python, C/C++, C#, Matlab, APIs, SQL, MySQL, IoT/Edge protocols, Open architecture SCADA platforms, Front End and UX Design
