Duties and responsibilities

As part of the Procurement Department, the Buyer will support the operationalteams in the sourcing and purchase of goods and services required to fulfillthe project requirements. The Buyer will be responsible for the identification, sourcing and purchase of all goods and services in keeping with the Business Procedures, to deliver best value through the procurement processes and for being the main point of reference within the Business on all matters concerning the supply of these goods and services.

Offer valued support, regulation & experience to the business to ensure Best Value is achieved for the company and its customers through:

Cost reduction

Best working practices

Continuous improvement

Vendor reduction/identification

Sourcing solutions

Establishment of key vendor relationships

Reduction in lead/delivery period

Support the development, implementation and management of the Businesses Key Term Framework Agreements.                 

Key tasks:  

Work closely with all appropriate internal and external stakeholders to deliver and improve the procurement service

Ensure all Vendors are sourced, evaluated and selected through the business Vendor Accreditation Programme

Issue of appropriate Invitation to Tender / Request for Quotation, discussing queries, analysing quotations and make recommendation to the appropriate budget holders

Explore new product ranges and services in order to maintain competitiveness

Negotiate prices/rates, programme, scope of works, terms and conditions, etc., to provided best value and formally enter into Purchase or Subcontract Orders to reflect negotiated agreements.

Act as the interface between customer and vendor to develop and maintain business relationships

Maintain and ensure accuracy of departments computerised procurement systems and databases in own areas of responsibility

Analyse financial data, identify errors and solve problems regarding complex invoice queries

Manage own workload to ensure purchasing deadlines are met

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administation

0-5 years of experience of procurement within the oil and gas industry
