Service Engineer, Hydraulic/Mechanical

On a worldwide basis, our Service Engineers represent the company while servicing, troubleshooting and supervising repair of NOV equipment. They are able to make necessary repairs and minor corrections to systems as required. They provide a high level of customer service for product maintenance and in-field repair.

Responsibilities:

• Perform inspection, installation, commissioning, repair, upgrading, troubleshooting and related service work on offshore drilling platforms, land rigs, shipyard or in workshops on NOV drilling equipment.
• Liaise with rig’s management during offshore assignment.
• Communicate with respective Supervisors for briefing and debriefing of service-related activities.
• Fill in necessary job reports, procedures, instructions and checklists required for all work in a timely manner.
• Interface with relevant departments to obtain a thorough understanding of NOV products and how they are safely operated, tested, calibrated and problems are resolved in a timely manner.
• Communicate field failures and feedback reports to the appropriate departments.
• Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
• Comply with customers HSE policies and procedures.
• Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
• Perform necessary initiative to satisfy National Oilwell Varco`s instructions given in the quality assurance system.
• Continuously acquire updated knowledge and experience of new and existing products.

Qualifications: 

• Hydraulic and/or mechanical diploma in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience on NOV delivered equipment or rig experience is preffered.
• Must be able to travel internationally and domestically.
• Offshore health certificate is mandatory for the position.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in Norwegian and English
• PC knowledge is required.
