Technical Superintendent

To reflect GC Rieber Shippings ambitious strategy and increased activity we are seeking the ideal candidates to fulfill the roles of Technical Superintendent (Operational department)

Main tasks & goals for the position:

As Technical Superintendent you will be responsible and lead all aspects of technical management for assigned vessels in order to contribute to safe, reliable and cost effective operations on a best in class performance level.

Key responsibilities:

• Keeping vessels operational and on hire in accordance with rules and regulations
• Preparing and follow up of technical stops, docking and port calls
• Carryout vessel inspections and follow up client and external audits
• Actively contribute to desired QHSE culture in own department and in the company in general
• The vessels performance towards client as well as operational availability
• The vessels class, certificates and maintenance status
• The vessels manning level and composition
• The vessels budget, OPEX and cost control
• Build and maintain strong and positive client relations

Qualification requirements:

• Minimum bachelors degree in relevant engineering or Sailing experience as Chief engineer
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to enhance positive client relations
• Experience as Technical Superintendent is preferable

For the position the below expertise / experience will be a benefit and preferred:

• Offshore and wind service operation vessels, SPS, Walk to work
• Offshore Support vessel, Subsea Construction vessel (IMR / SURF)
• Offshore vessel, dynamic positioning
• Seismic Towing and bottom seismic
• Ice class / Ice breaking support vessels
• Expedition & Research vessels
• International experience is required: preferably Europe and/or Asia

Personal qualities:

• Experience and solid presentation and communication skills, Norwegian and English
• Self motivated and able to motivate team members
• Well developed communication and leadership skills
• Quality oriented and analytic
• Cope with high workload
